Summer Camps: Day, Pre-School, and Learning Center

You can’t miss Day Camp 2019!  The weeks are jam-packed with fun, excitement, and awesome new programming.

Weekly Field Trips include Horizon Fun Fx, Genesee Country Village, Minnehan’s Fun Center, The Zoo, and Genesee County Park, and Hamlin Beach State Park.

Our Theme Weeks Include: Out Of This World, Time Travelers, Super Heros, Country Fair, and Life’s a Beach.

Pre-School Day Camp

Join the Gillam Grant Pre-School camp for kids ages 3-5 years old, headed to Pre-K in the fall.  Camps run from 9:30AM to Noon each week.   Each camp revolves around a theme while providing a fun and education atmosphere.  Registrations are required 1 week before the start of each camp.  Costs for each camp are $44M/$54NM.

The weeks this year include,

  • UNDER THE SEA Week 1: July 8th – 12th
    Walk like a crab, chomp like a shark, and have some water FUN with your camp friends. Explore the creatures of the sea. Make some cool seashell crafts. It’s going to be one wet and fun week!
  • DINOSAURS Week 2: July 15th – 19th
    Dinosaurs are amazing creatures. We will explore and learn all there is to know about dinosaurs. Campers will walk in a dinosaur’s footprints, build a dino skeleton, and hunt for dino eggs.
  • SUPERHERO Week 3: July 22nd – 26th
    Calling all Superheros! What is your superpower? Do you have x-ray vision? Can you crush with super strength? Do you do good deeds and help people? Come to the Superhero training camp for some SUPER fun.
  • MINI MEDICAL SCHOOL Week 4:  July 29th – Aug 2nd
    Hello, little doctors in training! Bring your own stuffed animal patients and learn to take blood pressure readings, give “stitches”, and give exams all while learning about human body parts, what they do and how to take care of them.

Learning Center Camps

Each summer the Learning Center at the Gillam-Grant offers many learning opportunities for our community. We offer a variety of Summer Camps from Robotics and Programming to Pet Care and Cooking.  Read this summer’s schedule by clicking here.

We are open Monday-Friday by appointment for your summer tutoring needs. Tutoring can help prevent summer learning loss or help students pass their August regents.

Sting Soccer Registration Open

The Byron-Bergen Sting Travel Soccer Club has announced registration for the travel season. The Byron-Bergen Sting Soccer Club provides an opportunity for boys and girls from the ages of 8 to 17 to play competitive travel soccer with an emphasis on player development.   Registration is available online (gillamgrant.org registration tab).  Try-out dates, if necessary, will be announced by coaches.   Our club is affiliated with the Rochester District Youth Soccer League (RDYSL) and New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA).   The Sting fee per player is $205.00.  Uniform cost (about $58) is separate for first-time players.  Returning 2018-2019 Sting players are able to use their current uniform in 2019-2020.

Sting Soccer Club Terms:
This release is effective for the current academic year playing season.  I/We give permission for any medical attention necessary to be administered to my/our child by a licensed Medical Professional in the event of an accident or injury until I/we can be contacted. I/we do further release, indemnify, and hold harmless the US Youth Soccer Association, NYSW Youth Soccer Association, Rochester District Youth Soccer Association, Byron-Bergen Sting Soccer Club, Gillam-Grant Community Center, Byron-Bergen School District, Town of Bergen, instructor’s, coaches, and any and all persons associated with the Byron-Bergen Sting Soccer Club. I/we also agree that a fee of $205 is required for registration. Those not willing to pay using a credit card online can pay at the Gillam Grant Community Center during normal business hours. If the player does not make the final roster of the team or the Gillam Grant is unable to field a team this fee will be refunded.  All households are required to contribute at least 4 hours of volunteer time to the club.  Failure to do so will result in an additional $50 fee which must be paid prior to the first outdoor game in order for your child to participate.
